ESPN suspends Jemele Hill over National Football League comments

Donald Trump directed a tweet at Jemele Hill on Tuesday morning following ESPN's announcement that they were suspending the sports journalist for violating their social media guidelines.

"Rev. Sharpton and NAN will call for a meeting with the Chairman of the Board and demand an immediate reinstatement of Jemele Hill along with other demands pertaining to corporate diversity", said Sharpton and the network said in a statement. After blowing a lead and losing to the Green Bay Packers 35-31, Jones said "if there's anything that is disrespectful to the flag, then we will not play. OK?"

The Wrap reported that the Smith's decision to sit out Monday's show was a "mutual" one with ESPN, and a spokesperson for the network confirmed to The Post that Smith is expected back on set Tuesday.

Catalan leader under pressure to drop independence
The Spanish PM insisted that what happens next "depends fundamentally" on whether Puigdemont will declare independence. They marched across 50 Spanish cities, carrying banners calling for peace and dialogue between leaders.

On Monday, ESPN announced it had suspended its program host for the new tweets sent in a discussion about Jones' threaten to bench any player who takes a knee during the national anthem. A few days later, network President John Skipper issued a memo telling employees to avoid "inflammatory" comments on social media.

The latest such example of this freaky behavior is with ESPN's Jemele Hill. He supported Skipper's decision not to punish Hill for her previous controversial tweets.

NFL players have been protesting racial injustice and police brutality by kneeling, locking arms or sitting during the national anthem before games. It had appeared that Hill in her series of tweets Sunday night was advocating a boycott of the NFL. While Hill is off "SportsCenter", it's still unclear whether she has been suspended from social media. Hill, a prolific tweeter, avoided an outright apology, but said she regretted she "painted ESPN in an unfair light".

Local group raises money for Puerto Rico
The group is called Tostonazo and is made up of local Puerto Ricans living in Houston. She arrived at Newark Airport tonight after being stuck in Puerto Rico for 17 days.

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders responded to Hill's tweet about Trump by calling it "a fireable offense".

She is not employed by ESPN to solve climate change. ESPN or Hill can decide whether they think their current relationship is mutually beneficial.
