"The behavior described by the women coming forward can not be tolerated".

Hillary Clinton condemned disgraced Hollywood executive Harvey Weinstein on Tuesday, marking her first public comments on the matter since reports of his alleged predatory behavior broke five days ago. Weinstein was later terminated from the movie production company bearing his name, The Weinstein Company. The statement comes after growing pressure on the former secretary of state from both left and right-wing figures and media outlets over her silence about the allegations. Clinton also headlined a number of big-dollar fundraisers at Weinstein's home in New York City. Separately, three women accused Weinstein of raping them in a story published online by The New Yorker, including the Italian actress Asia Argento and a woman who was an aspiring actress in college when she caught Weinstein's eye. Cory Booker of New Jersey and Kamala Harris of California, have said they are giving that money to charities helping women.

In a statement on Twitter on Tuesday, Clinton said she was "shocked and appalled" and that "the behavior described by women coming forward can not be tolerated".
