The technological goal of the project will supposedly see Lamborghini address this future in five areas: energy storage systems, innovative materials, propulsion system, visionary design and "emotion".

A supercapacitor is like a battery in the sense it can be charged and can store electricity.

Trading batteries for supercapacitors and lightweight aluminum with self-healing, energy-storing carbon fiber, the Terzo Millennio is full of pie-in-the-sky technology promises, but its declaration is clear: some future Lamborghinis will run exclusively on electrons. The Lamborghini-MIT partnership has two more years, however.

Broadcom offers $103 billion for Qualcomm, sets up takeover battle
Industry analysts believe that if Apple does not challenge the deal, it's one hurdle that Broadcom will have cleared. Broadcom had $5.25 billion in cash and cash equivalent as of July 30.

On the driving front, the Lamborghini Terzo Millennio will follow suit with auto makers like Tesla, having all four wheels powered by independent electric motors to retain Lamborghini's all-wheel-drive hallmark in its future electric cars.

Automobili Lamborghini and two laboratories of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology came together to create the future Lamborghini electric super sports auto called the Terzo Millenio. Now, the two have revealed the fruit of their collaboration in the form of the Terzo Millennio concept. Furthermore instead of batteries, the concept will use "supercapacitors", which are capable of delivering peak power at any time and recover kinetic engery more efficiently.

The Italian vehicle firm unveiled its design concept for the auto, billing it as "made for future super sports auto enthusiasts". Lamborghini also says putting the motors in the wheels allow 'freedom for designers and aerodynamicists'.

US Army's Bergdahl spared prison time for deserting
He was brought home by the Obama administration in May 2014 in a controversial exchange for five Guantanamo Bay detainees. He had faced up to life in prison after pleading guilty to desertion and misbehavior before the enemy.

Lamborghini's future will be very interesting indeed. Lamborghini's latest innovation is "Piloted Driving" - allowing the driver to be taken around a track by a "virtual expert" before taking the wheel to follow a virtual ghost auto.

So, what do you think about the Lamborghini Terzo Millennio?

The Terzo Millennio concept is the hint of the future for the Italian sports vehicle maker which has rarely shied away from showcasing its big V10 and V12 petrol power plants across its line-up. As Lamborghini points out, this tech allows for confidently using carbonfibre for "high-fatigue" parts, meaning weight savings in regions usually reserved for heavier, more durable materials.

3 reasons Michigan State will win Big Ten
DaeSean Hamilton caught seven passes for 112 yards and a touchdown for Penn State (7-2, 4-2), which has lost two straight. Franklin decided against a field-goal attempt on fourth-and-8 from the Michigan State 27.

Another Third Millennium concept is development of a self-monitoring and self-healing carbon-fiber body to "detect...damages in its substructure caused by accidents" and begin a "self-repairing process via release of micro-channels filled with healing chemistries" to fix the faulty panel.
