  • The political social and economic future of the NFL is in the hands of the owners as they are currently discussing whether to bring back the largely productive but publically ridiculed Roger Goodell

Jerry Jones opposes the contract extension being negotiated with Roger Goodell.

The New Yorker reported on Monday Boies executed the contract between Weinstein and an intelligence firm he hired to spy on accusers and journalists working on stories about the producer's history of alleged sexual harassment and assault.

Per the ESPN report, someone who "spoke recently with Goodell" said he is "furious" over Jones and "other owners' insistence that his next contract's compensation should be more performance-based" with incentives created to only get him back to "roughly the same level of his current deal".

Germans break internet as Twitter switches to 280 characters
Some users have long fought for the extended tweet, claiming 140 was simply not enough to get their point across. However, these users don't have trouble with the 140-character limit due to the density of their languages.

Jones has become increasingly and more openly unhappy with Goodell's performance, particularly over his handling of protests related to the national anthem and his suspension of Dallas running back Ezekiel Elliott.

Jones reportedly told the six owners who make up the NFL's compensation committee on a conference call that legal papers would be served if the committee did not halt talks on a contract extension for Goodell. Goodell suspended Elliott in August after a yearlong National Football League investigation.

How are the owners pushing against Goodell?

Minneapolis elects transgender woman to City Council
According to the Post , Roem said on Tuesday night, as her margin of victory became clear, "Discrimination is a disqualifier". Andrea Jenkins this week became the first trans person of colour elected to any office in the USA , and people are overjoyed.

Elliott has continued to play while the issue works its way through the courts, but Jones still seems to have turned on Goodell over the suspension.

Lockhart said he is aware of the reports concerning the potential lawsuit by Jones, who has been removed as an ad-hoc member of the six-member compensation committee, but "certainly neither the compensation committee or the league has been made aware of a lawsuit being filed".

Goodell now rakes in a whopping, $40 million annually under his current contract, but if Jones has his way, he'd better be putting some away in savings. Jones previously said he believed players should stand for the anthem. Jones, by the way, owns more than 100 Papa John's franchises. Although, one could argue that Goodell is making more than his fair share, with the most recent reports indicating he's making over $34 million a year.
