World leaders who attended a regional summit here shared an "unprecedented sense of crisis" over North Korea's continuous development of nuclear weapons, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said Tuesday.

Pyongyang's military launched 22 missiles during 15 total tests between February and September of this year, putting the North well on pace to surpass the 24 missiles it tested last year, CNN reported. Duterte also said the Asean was doing its part to try to persuade Kim to stop his nuclear amibitions. "That's why we are persuading him, maybe pleading with him to stop the -", Duterte was heard saying, before media were led out of the room. "The Philippines is about too far but, you know, nobody will save us from a holocaust if it happens", Duterte stressed.

Earlier, North Korea threatened to launch missile strikes toward Guam, where a U.S. military base is situated.

Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez III and Japan International Cooperation Agency Chief Representative in the Philippines Susumu Ito also had an exchange of loan agreement on Cavite Industrial Area Flood Risk Management Project.

Modi expressed a willingness to partner up on Abe's Indo-Pacific strategy, which espouses cooperation on maritime security and infrastructure development by countries that share the principles of the rule of law and the market economy.
