The family of 24-year-old Sydney Loofe announced Monday that her body has been recovered.

Investigators found evidence of foul play upon discovering the 24-year-old's body Monday afternoon, Lincoln Police Chief Jeff Bliemeister said at the news conference.

Details regarding how Loofe's body was found have not been released. No one has been charged, although authorities found two persons of interest who released a freakish Facebook video last week.

Bliemeister said investigators have a "strong belief" that the body found in an open area of Clay County is that of Loofe, but formal confirmation will be made in coming days, USA Today reports.

Bliemeister said the digital footprint led the Nebraska State Patrol to their discovery during a search in the area. She was reported missing the next day.

This week's fighting reportedly left aid workers trapped inside a building and unable to administer support to civilians. He remained in the country, however, and continued to wield political power from behind the scenes.

In that same video, Boswell said she and Loofe drove around Lincoln, smoked marijuana at her apartment in Wilber and then she dropped Loofe off at a friend's house and hadn't heard from Loofe since.

Bliemeister said the area has been closed off now by law enforcement so officers can thoroughly investigate the site.

Her disappearance ignited a search that captivated the Lincoln area and drew in resources from neighbouring law enforcement agencies and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Boswell has admitted she was with Loofe in the hours prior to her being reported missing.

He said the two are persons of interest in the case.

Police said that Trail and Boswell haven't been charged with anything in relation to Loofe's death, but they remained in custody as persons of interest.

In Lincoln, Loofe worked as a cashier at the Menards at 27th Street and Cornhusker Highway, and was known by her friends and co-workers as polite, caring and willing to do anything that was needed. "And not only did we do that, we. went to the casino and used the money that we sold her for". Aubrey Trail and Bailey Boswell are being held at the Saline County Jail, after they turned themselves in in Taney County, Missouri.

Boswell and Trail posted a video to social media in which they said they were innocent and had been "slammed and crucified" in the newspapers. 'She has a very good heart'. "But I'm not what you're trying to make me out to be", Trail said in one video.

A lawyer whom Trail mentioned in the video, Douglas Werz, said in a statement that he had not been hired by the man.

The Tuesday morning press conference lasted about 10 minutes and law enforcement limited the number of questions that were asked. "She was planning on coming home that night".
