Brown served as the executive vice president of football operations for Cleveland, the same role Howie Roseman serves for the Eagles. He was sacked on Thursday. Cleveland has a huge amount of draft capital thanks to Brown, but 24 selections in the last two cycles haven't resulted in a major talent influx. While it might seem like a short period of time, it was filled with tons of roster moves that helped shape what the team is today, as well as what it might be in the future. The team passed up a chance to draft quarterbacks Carson Wentz and Deshaun Watson in the past two drafts and Cleveland has shown little sign of improvement since Brown took over. But he does leave Cleveland with some successes. "At the same time, I'm in charge with coaching this team and trying to do the best I can with what I have".

While Brown was done in by the team's lack of success, Jackson said that he did not doubt that he'd return despite a 1-27 mark.

"Sashi is a good person", Jackson said. "I've got to think through a lot of things first before I start talking about it".

Since returning to Cleveland, the Browns have had eight different general managers - Brown, Ray Farmer, Michael Lombardi, Tom Heckert, George Kokinis, Phil Savage, Butch Davis and Dwight Clark. Assuming nothing changes and Jackson is retained - Haslam can always change his mind if his preferred general manager demands the power to name his own coach - he would become the first Browns head coach to make it to a third year since Romeo Crennel, who coached the Browns from 2005-2008. "At the end as I told you guys, it is about winning and losing so we have to get to that as fast as we can". "They're being developed right now and it's important for them to have a single voice from a head coach and a single voice from their position coach molding them into National Football League players". It's hard to say if it was a plan issue or a personal issue.

Three notable people that have yet to say anything on the firing. "Sometimes it was personality related". "I'm happy to see him back".
