Google-Amazon feud continues to escalate

The stakes are about to intensify, as Alphabet will pull YouTube access from Amazon's more prominent Fire TV platform at the end of this month, just as Google Cast can't access Amazon's Prime Video offerings.

Google's reasoning? Amazon insists on not selling rival products from Google, such as the Chromecast streaming device and various Nest smart home products, as well as not making Amazon Prime Video available as a streaming option on Chromecast.

'Given this lack of reciprocity, we are no longer supporting YouTube on Echo Show and FireTV. "We hope to resolve this with Google as soon as possible".

So, there you have it: You can't watch YouTube, a service Google gives away for free, on an Amazon Fire, a device you paid for, because two giant corporations apparently have the coping strategies of toddlers. The Show, unveiled in May, lets you scan your calendar for things like appointments and view weather forecasts.

Ravens move forward without injured-suspended CB Jimmy Smith
Smith's injury tainted an otherwise impressive afternoon for the Ravens (7-5), who played their most complete game of the year. It's a pragmatic decision, since he suffered a torn Achilles yesterday and was done for the rest of the season anyway.

It's been nearly three months since Google fired its first shot in the war against Amazon by stopping the Echo Show from accessing YouTube. Variety reported that Amazon's latest implementation also had some terms-of-service issues, which were related to the way it used voice commands.

"It should be about users of Google and Amazon, not Google and Amazon", a person familiar with Google's thinking told CNET. Google pointed a finger at Amazon, which hasn't been selling some products from Google and Nest, which is also owned by Google's parent company. (GOOGL, GOOG), said Tuesday that it is pulling YouTube from some Inc. devices in retaliation for Amazon refusing to sell many Google products, escalating a battle between two tech titans as their businesses increasingly overlap. As for the Amazon Fire TV, the version of YouTube on that device will only work until January 1, 2018.

So Amazon struck back at Google's hardware: As you are likely aware, Google makes various little bits and bobs of hardware: The Google Home, the Google Pixel, Chromebooks, the Chromecast, and so on.

Amazon also has rankled Google by declining to sell an internet-connected thermostat made by Nest, which is owned by Alphabet Inc., like Google. Fire TV users will start seeing the warning notification from today. "Google is setting a disappointing precedent by selectively blocking customer access to an open website", a spokesperson said.

Willie Taggart Leaves Oregon To Take Florida State Job
His record was an impressive 25-9 his past three seasons of coaching, and he earned his teams three consecutive bowl berths. From there, the Ducks lost four of their next five after an injury to starting quarterback Justin Herbert .

The move is undoubtedly a huge blow for Amazon but we hope that the situation can eventually be resolved.

YouTube was supposed to disappear from the Echo Show Tuesday, although Amazon has previously found ways to make unauthorized versions of YouTube available on that device.

"Through our collaboration with Google, we are expanding our Omnichannel efforts to go beyond stores and online to in-home".
