Benteke ends goal drought as Palace beats Leicester 3-0

  • Shinji Okazaki wheels away to celebrate after scoring for Leicester City in their 3-1 triumph over Crystal Palace at the King Power Stadium last season

A week after being castigated for ignoring team orders to take, and miss, a stoppage-time penalty in a 2-2 draw with Bournemouth, Benteke made amends to put Palace in front with a glancing header from Andros Townsend's whipped in cross.

The hosts went down to 10 men after Wilfred Ndidi was shown a second yellow card for a dive in the area to give their hopes of a comeback a major blow.

But the Belgium global was key to Palace's stunning victory at the King Power Stadium, heading Hodgson's men in front before providing the assist for Wilfried Zaha to score the second.

'It's good for him.

NFL Los Angeles Chargers at Kansas City Chiefs: Preview and Prediction
They must make quarterback Philip Rivers uncomfortable in the pocket and the Chiefs' defensive backs must win one-on-one matchups. If the Chiefs lose, a division title looks very unlikely with an easy Los Angeles schedule remaining.

"I think it (the goal) will do a lot for Christian Benteke's confidence, and the crowd really got behind him today, they appreciated his work rate too, and that was fully deserved", Hodgson told Sky Sports. The goal he scored here is the sort of goal he's going to score.

Palace nearly sealed it in the 80th minute, Schmeichel spreading himself wide in a manner reminiscent of his father Peter to deny Benteke from a Townsend cross to the back post.

'One thing is for certain - if he keeps getting in good positions, he will score goals.

Six minutes before the break, Palace added a second goal with Benteke instrumental, charging through the Foxes defence to tee up Wilfried Zaha who did a neat step-over and he unleashed into the net.

That is a daunting number, but it will allow us to provide far more than food and shelter to those in need in our community. The Salvation Army says it is "significantly short" of reaching its Christmas Kettle Campaign goal in Windsor.

"I'm delighted with the victory, but I'm not that surprised because we've been threatening to do that for quite a long time now".

"It's three clean sheets in a row away from home which is good, and even more importantly we've cured the hoodoo of not scoring away from home", Hodgson said.

The loss ended Claude Puel's side four-match winning run, while their visitors are now unbeaten in seven matches since losing 1-0 to Tottenham Hotspur early last month, and have now moved out of the bottom three.

'It was a poor performance.

Broncos QB dislocated shoulder, report says
Osweiler's 54-yard TD pass to Jeff Heuerman , followed by a two-point conversion pass to Latimer, pushed Denver's lead to 22-13. The Broncos (5-9) are out of playoff contention and finish the season with games against the Redskins and Chiefs.

However, the French tactician claimed that the red card issued to the former Genk player was harsh, and it affected his team, adversely. But I didn't see the two fouls, I think he didn't make a lot of fouls in the game.
