North Korea now testing anthrax on ICBMs

A Japanese newspaper says that North Korea has begun to load anthrax onto its intercontinental ballistic missiles.

According to the report, the tests were conducted to ensure the survivability of anthrax, a potentially lethal biological pathogen, in high-temperature environments such as those generated when missiles re-enter earth's atmosphere.

On Monday, President Trump unveiled a new United States national security strategy which includes strengthening the country's cyber defence capabilities, and highlighted the threats of "rogue regimes" like North Korea.

In an interview with NHK , Yanagisawa said that he repeated his experiments multiple times to confirm his findings. Researchers said that the high mechanical strength and healing abilities tend to be mutually exclusive.

"The DPRK, as a state party to the Biological Weapons Convention (BWC), maintains its consistent stand to oppose development, manufacture, stockpiling and possession of biological weapons", North Korea's Institute for American Studies, which is affiliated with the foreign ministry, was quoted as saying by the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA). In 2012, the South Korean Ministry of National Defense estimated North Korea possessed between 2,500 and 5,000 metric tons of chemical weapons.

Quoting an unnamed spokesman from the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Country of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (CPRC and DPRK, respectively), state-run North Korean source KCNA referred to the US and South Korean military might as "puppet forces" and warned that the planned December 4. aerial drill is a "war rehearsal [that] is just a grave military provocation".
