  • Snapchat wants you to watch Stories outside of its app

This particular Snapchat Stories Everywhere feature is expected to expand the impact of the app beyond the usual scope of just a core mobile app. Snap's support Twitter account tweeted earlier today that the feature is available right now for some users, and it promised that "more Snapchatters" will be able to access it soon.

The best way to show they are committed is to give that kind of performance. For us, it is a question of keeping fighting.

They're reportedly developing a new feature which will let users share stories outside the Snapchat app according to live streaming news network Chedder. While the company continued to flail around, maybe they will even consider a Windows app, or will this only be well after its too late to matter? To lead the effort, Snap Inc has apparently hired former News Corp executive Rahul Chopra. The web player would also prompt users to sign up for Snapchat, allowing the company to try to boost its user count. Despite snapchat stories lasting only 24 hours, it was only visible on Snapchat which meant you had control over who saw the story (he/she would have to be on your Snapchat profile). Once you find it, the new feature will give you the options to edit, save, or send the story. This feature will allow the social media site to become an outlet for news and other video verticals. According to the company it had 178 million daily users at the end of the third quarter, but the growth rate has been slowing, meanwhile rival Instagram says it has surged to more than 800 million monthly users. The videos are curated by both the Snap workers and computer algorithms. Also, the feature hasn't been rolled out to all users yet. To get feedback on the app's performance and design, it has distributed a variety of Android devices to the engineering teams.
