The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Chill Advisory beginning at 6 pm Saturday and extending to noon on Tuesday.

WIND CHILL WARNING/ADVISORY is in effect late tonight through Tuesday morning.

On Friday, the NWS released a Hazardous Weather Outlook warning of the likelihood of unsafe wind chills ranging anywhere from 15 to near 30 below zero in the region and continued bitterly cold temperatures through the coming week.

The cold front will start moving in Saturday afternoon and push temperatures down to the 40s overnight into Sunday . This will be a very unsafe stretch of cold for the area, so make sure your family and pets are prepared.

It said a wind chill advisory means cold air and the wind will combine to create low wind chills.

We will only make it to a few degrees above zero for New Year's Eve, but at least there will be sunshine. Wind chills could range from 5 degrees below zero to 25 degrees below zero. Be sure to take extra precaution by covering exposed skin, wearing extra layers, a coat, and gloves.

Tomorrow night: Mostly clear.

Winter Weather Advisory for areas close to Lake Ontario, for Niagara and Orleans counties, and also Wyoming counties from early Saturday morning to early Sunday morning for 4 to 8 inches of snow, especially closer to the lakeshore, and higher elevations in Wyoming.

Monday: Sunny, high near 3. Decreasing cloud cover, becoming partly cloudy will allow for additional cooling, with lows 5 to 15 below zero.

Fri: Hi: 28 Lo: 13 Sunny. We'll finally be around 10 on Wednesday for daytime highs.
