Civil rights activist Erica Garner has passed away

Erica Garner, the 27-year-old daughter of Eric Garner who died when a police officer put him in a chokehold over illegally selling cigarettes, died Saturday due to complications from a heart attack.
Garnerreportedly suffered "major brain damage" from a heart attack she had last week and died at Woodhull Hospital in Brooklyn, New York, on Saturday morning after being in a coma since December 23.

Eric Garner died after a police officer subdued him with a chokehold in 2014. When they thought he was resisting their command to surrender, he was put down violently.
