However, with Google outstripping Apple in terms of downloads, you can see why the company may want to make its platform and app tools developer-friendly, adding features such as Buddybuild that make it easier to use. Its seamless development platform that provides a complex solution for easily distributing apps to users and gathering bug reports, feedback and crash reports was launched in October 2015, and now it has just become one of Apple's many assets.

In fact, Apple announced this week that consumers made a whopping $300 million in purchases on the App Store on New Year's Day 2018 alone.

"We're excited to share that the Buddybuild team has joined the Xcode engineering group at Apple to build unbelievable developer tools for the entire iOS community", the Vancouver-based outfit said in a blog post on Tuesday. Google Play Store continues to dominate the app market despite the tough competition from Apple's app store, which is obviously causing lot of anguish for the iPhone maker. To boost subscriber base, the company is now venturing into original programming.

Buddybuild isn't Apple's first app development acquisition.
