  • TwitterCourtney Roland a Houston-based sports reporter has been reported missing by her family and friends

Houston police said sports reporter Courtney Roland was in a "state of confusion" when they located her near a Houston overpass Monday morning.

Roland's family has been pleading for her whereabouts.

Authorities say Roland had covered a football camp Saturday and then late that night her mother received nonsensical texts from her daughter.

But in the early hours of Monday morning, Brian Perroni, a former colleague, wrote on Twitter that her auto, purse, wallet and phone have been found in the Houston Galleria area.

It'll be tough for a lot of us on the crew to be impartial when we go into those production meetings and see you next year". All this combined led to the firing of Del Rio at the conclusion of his third season and the fight to get Gruden.

Houston police say a sports journalist who went missing after telling a friend she feared she was being followed has been found unharmed.

No further information was released.

Click2Houston reported several other very disturbing details about the case: "Roland's roommate, Autumn Vara, told KPRC that Roland texted her about a suspicious man she saw in Walgreens who was following her. Vara said he followed Roland to her home in a blue truck as she was parked in the driveway".

Family and friends reported Roland missing at the weekend.

A message left on her phone was not immediately returned.

Cruz said she appeared to have spent much of her time searching for her phone, which was found in the Jeep along with other personal items. Police later said she was found in the area.

The roommate said she was supposed to meet up with Roland but never heard from her again. Her purse was found at a nearby business. Roland and her roommate meant to meet up later that day, but she never appeared.

According to Houston Police, Roland was last seen around 5 p.m. on Sunday, walking alone in a store in a store at Galleria shopping mall.

Her disappearance Saturday after covering a football camp for top athletes prompted family and friends to use social media as a platform to find her, and Gov. Greg Abbott on Sunday retweeted a plea to help search for her with the hashtag #HelpFindCourtney. The family have since filed a missing persons report with Houston police.
