Europe sets out its position on the Iran nuclear deal

The agreement requires Iran to curb nuclear activities in exchange for sanctions relief, according to RFE/RL.

In October, President Donald Trump refused to certify the 2015 nuclear deal with Iran, calling the country a sponsor of worldwide terror. The president's top security advisers, including Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster, are reportedly once again urging the president not to blow up the accord.

Trump has called the nuclear agreement the 'worst deal ever negotiated, ' and has stressed that he could cancel U.S. participation in it 'at any time.' He refused to certify Tehran's compliance with the deal in October.

"The global community must be prepared for the USA possibly pulling out of the JCPOA", said deputy foreign minister Abbas Araghchi, using the technical name for the nuclear deal.

Mr. Kamalvandi's comments came as European powers prepared to meet Thursday to reaffirm their support for the accord.

GM seeking OK for autonomous Cruise in 2019

In a Washington Post op-ed published last Thursday berating the Obama administration for its handling of Iran, Vice President Mike Pence said that additional actions definitely were an option, given the latest protests. But is this the end of the deal for Iran and other parties as well?

Critics of the deal in Congress have also proposed amending legislation to ensure that U.S. sanctions would "snap back" automatically if Iran carried out certain actions.

US President Donald Trump wants to amend the deal or withdraw from it. "E3 and European Union fully aware that Iran's continued compliance conditioned on full compliance by the United States".

At the October 2017 deadline, Trump charged that Iran was not living up to the "spirit" of the agreement and asked Congress to unilaterally impose "trigger points" on the deal that would impose nuclear-related sanctions against Tehran should it overstep certain bounds.

The restrictions could hit some firms and individuals whose sanctions were previously scrapped.

Canada's first game is scheduled for February 15 when they take on Switzerland in preliminary round play. Ebbett had two assists as Canada went 2-1 at the Sochi Hockey Open in August in Russian Federation .

It's not clear whether Congress will live up to the administration's hope for new legislation authorizing more the more targeted sanctions or other changes to the USA commitments under the deal.

While the bill is still in the works, sources said that Corker is privately telling White House officials the legislative effort is much further along than it actually is.

She said they had also brought up "internal recent events" in a reference to anti-government protests in Iran that left more than 20 people dead. Or, as a worst case scenario, on encouraging Iran to stay the course, even if the United States pulls out of the deal.

Iran signed the accord in 2015 with six world powers, agreeing to curb its nuclear program in exchange for the lifting of many worldwide sanctions. Zarif has earlier said that continuation of fulfillment of all commitments based on the 2015 nuclear deal depends on United States complete adherence to the landmark agreement.

The agency's ability to ensure that compliance, through a strict regimen of inspections, is considered critical to the survival of the accord, which is meant to ensure that Iran's nuclear activities remain peaceful.
