An autopsy report is revealing more details about the cause of Roy Halladay's death.

An autopsy report revealed that Major League Baseball pitcher Roy Halladay died from blunt trauma and drowning when his ICON A5 aircraft crashed into the Gulf of Mexico Nov. 7 about 10 miles off the Pinellas County coast.

The toxicology results show Halladay had zolpidem (the generic name for Ambien), as well as morphine in his system at the time of the crash.

The private plane, which belonged to Roy Halladay had just been removed from the shallow waters off Ben Pilot Point in New Port Richey where it crashed Tuesday, killing the 40-year-old former Toronto Blue Jays and Philadelphia Phillies pitcher.

It notes that morphine can sometimes appear in the system as a result of heroin use, according to TMZ sports.

Halladay owned the plane, which could hold two people.

A day after the crash, a spokesperson for the National Transportation Safety Board said there are witnesses who saw Halladay flying his plane at a low altitude before crashing into the water.

Nicotine and alcohol were also discovered in Halladay's blood, the autopsy found. Halladay threw a flawless game against the Marlins May 29, 2010, and followed it up with a no-hitter against the Reds in Game 1 of the National League division series that October.
