  • Nintendo Labo is a modern analog DIY masterpiece

Nearly like a form of imagination meeting the cardboard equivalent of Lego, Labo is about the most interesting take we've seen on a video game system in ages, as the console becomes creative once more, and folks playing the games are encouraged to use their imaginations again.

Nintendo Labo are kits that provide tools and technology to make do-it-yourself creations and then play games with those creations.

Created to be used with the Nintendo Switch console and its accompanying Joy-Con controllers, the kit comprises modular sheets of cardboard that can be transformed into interactive creations. After her sense of awe passed, the first thing my daughter wondered about Nintendo Labo was whether the completed kits would last long in the hands of rambunctious kids.

Trump Appointee Resigns and Apologizes for Racist Comments
The taxpayers are exhausted of supporting government checks going to these people who think that breeding is a form of employment. The ideology of a Muslim is what I don't like. 'So I, I just, I really don't care for them.

But despite the similarities, Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime says that this is definitely not Nintendo's answer to VR.

The Nintendo Labo Variety Kit and Robot Kit launch in the U.S. on April 20th of this year, for $69.99 and $79.99 respectively.

For 70 bucks (£60), you can grab the Toy-Con 1: Variety Kit, which includes materials to make the Toy-Con RC Car, Toy-Con Fishing Rod, Toy-Con House, Toy-Con Motorbike, and Toy-Con Piano.

A 5-foot long tapeworm pulls out from a sushi lover's body
Humans contract tapeworm infections by eating raw fish that has been infected with the worm in its larvae stage. But the source of the Fresno tapeworm gave Mason momentary pause: Raw salmon sushi is her favorite.

A Customisation Set including stencils, stickers and coloured tape is also due on April 27th, to encourage kids to customise their creation. Once built, the toys act as accessories you can use to enhance your gaming experience.

For example, you can plug the console's controllers into the vehicle, and it will move around thanks to the controllers' vibrations, responding to users' input from the Switch's touchscreen. Then you slot the Joy-Cons in the side, and the screen generates the sound when you press the keys.

The designs are absolutely novel and unique, and who knows if Nintendo plans on unveiling more sets apart from the two initially introduced? As the Switch is heading into the second year on the market and is looking to keep its steam in the console race, Nintendo needed to find a way to stay relevant, and they have. Save a trip to the lake and catch a big one using a makeshift fishing rod. Now, the company has announced a new experiment for the latter handheld/console hybrid, one that involves inserting the device into pieces of cardboard to create accessories for controlling mini-games. Pressing the ignition button starts the engine, while twisting the right handle activates the throttle. It also has knobs for tweaking the output and creating new noises, and you'll dock the Switch right into the little paper piano. The first one is the Variety Kit, which includes several games and Toy-Con projects, according to Polygon.
