The iBooks app was renamed to just Books in iOS 11.3, which was recently released to developers, but the real changes are coming in the following months, according to the report.

Apple wants to take a bigger slice of the ebook market from Amazon, and part of its strategy includes a redesigned iBooks app. There are new icons for book categories and other app sections, including a new icon for the "Reading Now" feature mentioned in the original report. That could mean that Apple plans to make discovering new books through the Books app easier, possibly with categorical tabs and book cover art throughout the digital store. They will also have a dedicated tab for audiobooks, instead of the current dropdown menu. It's also very welcome, as the iBooks app hasn't had a significant update in years.

Apple was fined $450 million.

However as recent data shows Amazon almost monopolizing the USA e-books market, Apple appears ready and willing to jump back in and reclaim its former, competitive edge.
