Pete King: Russia Memo May be Released in 10 Days

  • DOJ Official to Nunes Releasing the Memo Would Be 'Extraordinarily Reckless'

While House Republicans (led by Nunes), have demanded the "release" of the memo to the public, they've simultaneously stonewalled the FBI, Department of Justice and Senate Intelligence Committee from obtaining a copy of the document.

On Wednesday, the Justice Department characterized Republicans' push for the release of Rep. Devin Nunes's classified memo on alleged government abuses of surveillance as "extraordinarily reckless", the Times. Ryan instead sided with Nunes, CNN reported, and helped work out an agreement for the DOJ to turn over hundreds pages of documents related to the Russian Federation probes.

Democrats charge that the Nunes' memo is skewed and contains inaccuracies meant to undermine special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into Trump's team. Even though any reasonable reading of the messages shows the two doing anything but trying to subvert Trump - not to mention the fact that we aren't reading whatever texts were sent by the thousands of other people who work at the Federal Bureau of Investigation - each message is examined with Talmudic care to find its hidden meanings and subtle implications, in the desperate hope that some ill will toward Trump might be found. "The same Trump department says it should not be made public, as it would damage the nation".

Burr declined to comment on the memo or whether he or his staff had viewed the document.

She rallied from 5-1 down in the third set of her second-round win and said she's been "playing with the house money" ever since. She gave birth to a girl, Alexis Olympia, last September and married father Alexis Ohanian in November.

WikiLeaks has offered $1 million in bitcoin to anyone who would share the memo, which meant this was a coordinated attack on US law enforcement. The whole point of the memo is to discredit the FBI and distract from the Russian Federation investigation.

The request by staff of Senate Intelligence Chairman Richard Burr (R-NC) to view the memo was also denied by House Republicans, CNN reported.

In a party-line vote last week, committee Republicans approved releasing the memo to House members, without sharing the essential intelligence documents that might support the claims. It also suggested that Nunes himself has not read the underlying intelligence that it is said to form the basis of the four-page memo.

GREENE: I know you can't tell us what is in this memo since it's classified, but what can you tell us about it?

But in his letter Wednesday, Boyd said the Justice Department is "currently unaware of any wrongdoing relating to the FISA process", and urged the committee to share the memo with the department and to inform it of any allegations of abuse so they can be investigated.

If the panel does vote to make the memo public, the ball goes to Trump's court for five days.

They called this memo a misleading set of talking points for Republicans. "Let everyone look at it", he told me, "so they can enjoy the piece of lettuce between two buns that's there". You may remember that Nunes stepped aside from the committee's Russian Federation investigation amid an ethics probe into his handling of classified information. A letter sent to Nunes this past week from Assistant Attorney General Stephen E. Boyd urged that the document not be released before the Justice Department reviews it for possible national security damage.

Sen. Charles Grassley (R-Iowa), the Judiciary Committee chairman, said Thursday he hoped to release a transcript of the questioning of Donald Trump Jr. and others who attended a June 2016 campaign meeting in Trump Tower with Russian lobbyists and lawyers. They didn't weave a dark tale of a sinister, hidden conspiracy coursing through the government trying to bring the president down.

Sit for talks to avoid aid cuts
Originally, moving the embassy was expected to take years. "Any embassy in the city is tacit recognition of Israel's claim ". Haley contrasted Sadat's language toward Israel with that of Abbas on January 14 to the Palestinian Liberation Organization.

Finally, Trump, when asked if he would agree to being interviewed by Mueller in the ongoing "Russiagate" investigation, said he is "looking forward" to the opportunity, and willing to do it "under oath".
