Taylor Swift fans have reacted angrily to the news that the man who was found guilty of groping the star has found new work as a DJ at a United States radio station. He hired Mueller as a DJ on country music station KIX in Greenwood, Mississippi, where on Monday Mueller began co-hosting a morning show called "Jackson & Jonbob", according to the New York Daily News and Inside Radio. A federal jury in Denver ruled for Swift and Mueller was ordered to pay a symbolic $1 to Swift. Mueller steadfastly denied that he did, saying during the days-long trial that he wasn't sure where his hand landed during a photo with the superstar, but it wasn't under her skirt. Delta Radio CEO Larry Fuss, the station's owner, said that he wanted Mueller's on-air name to have a "Southern spin".
"I sat down with him face-to-face in Minneapolis before I offered him the job and talked to him about it", Fuss tells the Daily News. "I tend to believe his version of the story".
However, Swift fans are having none of it and they have launched attacks about Mueller's hiring on social media, but Fuss refuses to entertain criticism about his decision.
See some of the passionate responses below. "It's just people who don't have a clue, or don't really have any knowledge of the facts". But he did admit that the decision was "maybe a tiny bit" about publicity.
"Most people" are not Taylor Swift fans.
"Most of them need to get a life", Fuss said. The man was sacked from his job at Colorado radio station KYGO in June 2013 after the 27-year-old told higher-ups that he slipped his hand under her skirt and put his hand on her butt as they posed for a picture together.
