Jerome Powell was sworn in Monday as the 16th chairman of the Federal Reserve in a brief ceremony in the Fed's board room. The U.S. Senate approved the nomination in late January.

Powell will deliver the Fed's twice-a-year monetary policy report to Congress and discuss the state of the US economy. President Donald Trump chose not to reappoint Yellen and instead turned to Powell, a former Fed governor expected mostly to continue to current Fed path.
