Complaints have abounded following the release of the update, with many users abandoning the app entirely in favor of Instagram (if they hadn't already). Or is it just me... ugh this is so sad, ' the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star first tweeted.

Jenner tweeted out that she doesn't open up Snapchat anymore because of the update.

As off-putting as the redesign may be for those of us who have spent years using Snapchat, the company is doing everything in its power to make the app approachable for a wider audience.

Snapchat's response to the petition acknowledges upcoming changes that it hopes will make the design more user-friendly, while also defending some of the controversial changes...

This month, more than a million keyboard-wielding, moderately frustrated change.org users petitioned Snapchat to roll back its big redesign - the one Snap delicately introduced over the course of a few months and said would be "disruptive".
