  • Texans Reportedly Won't Pursue Any Players in Free Agency Who Kneeled During National Anthem

Reports have emerged that both the Houston Texans and Miami Dolphins would stay away from players who protest during the national anthem.

While there is not believed to be a directive in place preventing personnel people from meeting with and signing players who have protested, Texans owner Bob McNair reportedly made it known that he would prefer to avoid free agents and draft prospects who have participated in demonstrations or are likely to.

In response, the Houston Texans have released an official statement saying, "A recent report that suggested the Houston Texans would not sign a player who has protested in support of social justice issues is categorically false and without merits".
