  • Los Angeles Rams inside linebacker Alec Ogletree leave

According to ESPN.com, the Rams are shipping linebacker Alec Ogletree to the Giants in a trade that also involves multiple draft choices.

The trade can not be officially announced until March 14, when the league year begins. This had helped him earn a lucrative four-year, $42.7 million extension in October 2017 that had $30 million guaranteed.

The Giants haven't exactly looked at linebackers in the first round of NFL Drafts.

The Giants will send their fourth and sixth round picks to the Rams for Ogletree and their 2019 seventh round pick.

Texans, Dolphins deny reports over anthem policy
Reports have emerged that both the Houston Texans and Miami Dolphins would stay away from players who protest during the national anthem .

A first-round pick out of Georgia in the 2013 draft, Ogletree had his best season in 2016, when he was named second-team All-Pro. Los Angeles finished last season fifth-worst in the National Football League at stopping the run, allowing 122.3 yards rushing per game and frequently struggling with stops between the tackles, where Ogletree needed to shine.

The Chiefs could have probably afforded that but it would've made it hard to sign other players in the coming years.

Former Missouri star Aldon Smith arrested
She reported to a police dispatcher about 8:30 p.m. that Smith was beating her at her residence in the 600 block of Bush Street. Drafted seventh overall by the 49ers in 2011, Smith was a standout rookie, recording 37 tackles and 14 sacks.

By obtaining Ogletree, the Giants are plugging a major hole once defense that they've had for years at middle linebacker. Those moves likely mean top cornerback Trumaine Johnson will leave as a free agent. He is due a $2 million roster bonus next week.
