Kyrie Irving returned from a one-game absence to help Boston fend off Minnesota, finishing with 23 points, seven rebounds and eight assists to pace the Celtics in a 117-109 victory over the Timberwolves on Thursday night.

Such was the case with Jaylen Brown on Thursday, after much worse was feared for the Celtics small forward when he took a terrifying tumble to the court.

Horford immediately sat down next to Brown to make sure his teammate knew he was there for him.

After he lost his balance on a dunk and slammed his head and neck area off the court, Brown was eventually able to walk off under his own power. The arena went dead silent until Brown got up and walked himself down the tunnel for evaluation with team trainers.

Rodgers: Celtic will do their talking on the pitch
However, for the first time since former Liverpool manager Rodgers arrived in Glasgow, Celtic are looking over their shoulder. Just three months after that 2012 win, 54-time Scottish champions Rangers were liquidated following financial mismanagement.

Brown reportedly later was taken to a hospital.

As of now, the Raptors will have a chance to play against the Boston Celtics three more times before the playoffs begin.

However, there would seem to be a good chance that Brown suffered a concussion there as Harlan suggested, and the Celtics' swingman is indeed being evaluated for a concussion. Al Horford chipped in with 20 points, eight rebounds and six assists, while shooting 50 percent from the field. It's just their hands get slippery or guys are just underneath them and scary falls happen like that.

The Celtics consistently generated quality shots on the offense, with crisp ball movement and a dose of ridiculous shot making from Kyrie Irving.

Making his first start since Phoenix's win over Memphis on February 28, Jackson played 13 minutes and tallied six points, two rebounds and two assists against Oklahoma City.

The dynamic duo were in one fluid motion in the final frame - they combined for 15 of the C's 31 fourth-quarter points and shut the door on any potential Timberwolves comeback.

The Celtics bench stayed hot, dropping 42 points, with Morris leading the way with 17 points (7-15 FG) and five rebounds.

Nemanja Bjelica led the Timberwolves with a career-high 30 points, including six of nine from the three-point range. His play has been a lift for the Celtics (46-20) as they hope to repeat as the top seed in the Eastern Conference once the playoffs begin.
