As for what touchless gestures are, the feature would let users perform tasks by moving their fingers without having to actually tap the screen. Unlike the display on the Samsung Galaxy S9, this new iPhone's display will curve from inwards from top to bottom (kind of like a banana). Samsung has successfully been producing phones with curved edge-to-edge displays since the Galaxy S6 Edge made its debut in 2015. Thus far, all of Apple's iPhones sport flat displays.

OLED, or organic light emitting diode, displays can be shaped into curves or even folded, unlike the less-flexible LCD screen technology used in prior iPhones.

States Sue Trump Administration Over Census Citizenship Question
The lawsuit - filed in the Southern District of NY - asks the federal courts to declare the citizenship question unconstitutional. All of the states bringing the case have Democratic attorneys general.

As Apple readies its next batch of iPhones and consumers are feeling less need to upgrade since the latest generation lacks significant new features, an insider has shared that two new additions could make an appearance within the next several years. The curved iPhone display has been a rumor for a while now as its been in development but, now it is expected to be around two or three years away from implementation. Reports now suggest Apple is developing a model with a curved screen design. A few years ago, Samsung rolled out a concept for its phones called Air Gestures for touchless gesture control, and has already had favorable outcomes from utilizing curved screens.

Apple did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Facebook needs a few years to fix problems: Zuckerberg
When Apple's CEO was asked what he would do if he were Zuckerberg, Cook said, " I wouldn't be in this situation ". Last month, the tech entrepreneur took out an ad in the New York Times to apologize to users.

That means users will have to keep their gestures close to the display for it to work.

While the Apple projects aren't imminent, the company has near-term plans to expand OLED technology to more devices, according to other people familiar with the matter.
