Game Informer have released some exclusive news regarding the release of Insomniac Games's newest title, Spider-Man, including a new trailer and release date. The Digital Deluxe version - which will include new story chapters for Marvel's Spider-Man: The City That Never Sleeps, a companion DLC series that will launch after the game drops - will retail for $79.99.

Superhero games haven't had the most impressive run on consoles in recent years, but the latest crack at bringing Spider-Man to life in pixels has got everyone excited. Wood also exhibited that the superhero is donning a new costume specifically designed by Insomniac Games.

Developer Insomniac Games angered some fans when it announced that Spider-Man would save enemies rather than allowing them to die. It's important to note that Sony also owns the rights to the Spider-Man movie rights, so it does make sense that Marvel approached them to create the game. The PlayStation 4 exclusive will launch September 7th, and along with the announcement a Digital Deluxe edition and Collector's Edition was detailed.

Furthermore, Insomniac Games has discovered that the release date reveal will occur today within a pleasant and welcoming tweet.

And a $149.99 (UK price TBA) physical collector's edition will include all of the above, along with a steelbook case, a mini artbook, and a Spider-Man statue.

Unfortunately, most of the game's details are only available in May's issue of Game Informer, with some other information releasing sporadically on their website. That'd be awesome to have Sora dressed as Spider-Man! The pin features Spider-Man from the game's cover. This edition also includes everything thrown in the game's digital deluxe edition. Unlike previous Spidey games, this one promises to be more of an open world and will even allow you to play as Peter (think Zero Suit Samus) and Mary Jane Watson at certain points throughout the plot. We'll know soon, apparently.
