The alleged Canadian serial-killer accused of devoting his victims garden trinkets is now dealing with a seventh murder charge, prosecutors in Toronto declared Wednesday.
As CrimeOnline previously reported, police suspect that McArthur was involved in the presumed death of a man who disappeared in 2013 while vacationing in Toronto.
Toronto police are expected to hold a news conference later today to provide an update on their investigation into McArthur.
Earlier in the day, McArthur was charged with a seventh count of first-degree murder.
Clad in an orange jumpsuit, McArthur spoke only once during the appearance to say his name. It closed after 18 months as it did not establish the whereabouts of the missing men or resolve the circumstances on their disappearances, police said. -Sgt. Hank Idsinga'd stated. He said a seventh set of remains has yet to be identified.
Police have been trying to identify the remains of at least seven men found at a property McArthur used as storage for his landscaping business and say he targeted men he met through dating apps that cater to gay men, meeting them at bars in the "Gay Village" area of Toronto, as well as male prostitutes.
The man's nephew said Faizi visited Toronto's Gay Village but kept that a secret from family, according to CBC. A Crown lawyer said outside court that the charge relates to the death of Abdulbasir Faizi.

While he said there is no current evidence linking McArthur to the cold cases, he said they fit the general profile of the alleged victims identified to date.
Mr. McArthur, who has also been charged with the deaths of Mr. Navaratnam and Mr. Kayhan, was interviewed as a part of Project Houston.
McArthur is due back in court on April 25.
Some of the remains, police said, belong to 49-year-old Andrew Kinsman, 50-year-old Soroush Mahmudi, and 40-year-old Skandaraj Navaratnam.
The city's police board has also approved an external review, requested by Mayor John Tory, that will look into how the force handled the cases of men missing from the gay village. They also release the photograph of a dead man believed to be a victim of McArthur in the hopes the public will help identify him.
And Chief Mark Saunders initiated an internal review that will become public, and has called for some form of public inquiry.
Police also have evidence that leads them to believe that Lisowick was killed in April of 2016, he said.
