  • Trump softens his tone on Russian Federation within minutes

A senior Russian lawmaker says President Donald Trump's tweet warning of an imminent missile strike on Syria reflects a dangerously light-minded approach to a critical situation.

The American president also criticized Russian Federation for its support of Syrian leader Bashar Assad, saying "you shouldn't be partners with a Gas Killing Animal who kills his people and enjoys it!'"

Russian Federation is disputing the claim that Assad's government was behind the attack; Trump has said evidence indicates otherwise.

The draft would also give council support to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons' fact-finding mission that Sweden's U.N. Ambassador Olof Skoog said "is on its way" to Syria to determine whether chemical weapons were used in the Damascus suburb of Douma last weekend.

The President was speaking after Sunday's chemical attack on the Syrian town of Douma, which killed 40.

"We aren't going to break off anything here or leave these programs", Putin said Thursday during a visit to a space exhibition center in Moscow to mark Cosmonauts' Day.

"The President indicated in a tweet that the bombs would be "smart" and the response a major one". "You're telling the enemy everything you want to do!"

He said: "Well I think the likely outcome is that action will be taken because it must be taken".

Aside from Russia's involvement in the long-running Syrian conflict, Trump claimed "Much of the bad blood with Russia is caused by the Fake & Corrupt Russia Investigation" into Russian meddling in the 2016 US presidential election.

The U.S. relies on Russia's space agency, Roscosmos, to ferry astronauts and equipment to the International Space Station, paying $2.6 billion for the use of Soyuz rockets since the National Aeronautics and Space Administration retired its fleet of space shuttles in 2011. "Stop the arms race?" - asks the American President.

Russian President Vladimir Putin, who has been butting heads with the United States over Syria, said Wednesday that although rising tensions in a "chaotic world" have been causing anxiety, he hopes that "common sense will prevail". Russian Federation needs us to help with their economy, something that would be very easy to do, and we need all nations to work together. We need all countries to work together. He was incensed this week by the FBI's raid of his personal attorney's office and hotel room.

While not indicating whether he plans to seek Mueller's removal, Trump again said prosecutors are acting unfairly because they know there is no evidence he worked with Russians during the 2016 presidential campaign.

Mueller is a registered Republican, appointed as Federal Bureau of Investigation director by George W.Bush and named as special counsel during Trump's tenure.
