  • Trump London hospital is like'a war zone

"France expresses its firm disapproval of the comments by President Trump about the attacks of 13 November 2015 in Paris and asks for the memory of the victims to be respected", the foreign ministry said.

On Saturday, France criticized remarks of President Trump about the 2015 attacks in Paris and called on him to show respect for the victims of the bloodshed that saw terror attack the Bataclan concert hall and other targets.

At the NRA convention last Friday in Dallas, Trump said Britain has tough gun laws but that one London hospital is awash with blood because of knife wounds.

The French government issued its strongest criticism of Mr Trump since he took office and one minister urged the leader to apologise, at a time when President Emmanuel Macron has been reinforcing bilateral ties following a state visit.

The President mimicked the terrorists slowly killing their victims when in reality they were armed with automatic weapons and bombs. Come over here. Boom, come over here.

The fight started off well for Haye, who was recovering from an Achilles injury suffered midway through their first fight in 2017. Andre Ward has insisted his focus remains on his entertainment career despite Tony Bellew's apparent fight offer.

Former Prime Minister Manuel Valls tweeted, "Indecent and incompetent".

"It's just politically convenient, in a speech to the gun rights lobby, to try and make those comparisons and they are totally spurious".

According to figures released by London's Metropolitan Police, the city recorded 4,700 incidents of knife injuries between April 2017 and March this year, the highest reported figures in England and Wales since 2011.

Diane Abbott, the opposition Labour Party's spokeswoman for home affairs, said she could "hardly see how violent crime in London justifies the licensing of guns in the U.S.".

The comments provoked anger in both France and Britain. The attackers killed 130 people, and over 400 were injured.

But the surgeon, who works for, the Royal London Hospital, responded on Twitter to Trump, suggesting he had missed the whole point and saying he was "happy to invite Trump to my (prestigious) hospital".

Trump told the NRA convention in Dallas on Friday that a "once very prestigious" London hospital was "like a war zone for frightful stabbing wounds".

'They say it's as bad as a military war zone hospital.

But Londoners hit back at the president's comments, with Professor Karim Brohi, a trauma surgeon at the Royal London Hospital, which trump is believed to have been referring to, suggesting it was absurd to think that guns could help solve knife crime. He will also no doubt see that Londoners hold their liberal values of freedom of speech very dear, the London ayor said in a tweet last month when Trump's July visit was confirmed.
