Trump Says NFL Owners' Anthem Protest Ban Doesn't Do Enough

  • Trump: NFL players who don't stand during National Anthem maybe 'shouldn't be in the country'

Players began kneeling during the anthem in 2016 as a means of protesting social injustice in the U.S.

While NFL owners told their players Wednesday that standing for the national anthem is more important than standing up for democratic principles, another team in another major sports league demonstrated a better way to treat your employees and the issues important to them.

The policy forbids players from sitting or taking a knee on the field during the anthem but allows them to stay in the locker room.

Trump: NFL players who don't stand during National Anthem maybe 'shouldn't be in the country'

Speaking in a rare interview with Fox & Friends on Thursday morning, Trump aired his views on a number of topics including the FBI's use of a confidential source to aid its investigation into the Trump campaign, immigration, and the economy.

One organization, the National Action Network, will march on league headquarters Friday to "advocate for players' right to kneel and call on NFL owners to reverse (the) risky decision violating players' First Amendment rights by imposing fines for not standing during the national anthem".

"This country is very smart", Trump added. As reported by the Inquisitr, New York Jets CEO Christopher Johnson offered to pay the fines for any National Football League players who don't stand for the anthem. "And you have to take the players' feelings and views into account, as well".

Opponents slam Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro's election victory as a sham
He also accused Maduro's government of rationing food parcels "selectively" to manipulate hungry citizens' votes. It has also limited transactions involving Venezuelan bonds and the country's new cryptocurrency.

What some teams have done in the past likely indicates how they will handle disciplining players for demonstrations during the anthem - regardless of the intent. You have to stand proudly for the national anthem.

Donald Trump took time away from his busy schedule unearthing witch hunts and catching phantom spies to weigh in on another story he believe has national security implications.

Trump, who has been vocal in his opposition to the anthem protests, welcomed Goodell's announcement in an interview with FOX News. Any violations of the new rules would result in fines against teams.

Six Senate Democrats Helped Republicans Confirm Torturer Gina Haspel
During her confirmation hearing, Haspel repeatedly declined to say whether harsh interrogation techniques were morally wrong. Haspel also received the support of the editorial boards of New York Post, The Wall Street Journal, and The Weekly Standard.

"I think that's good".

The NFL Player's Association, which has supported the players' right to protest, issued a release on Wednesday stating it would review the new rule and challenge any aspect inconsistent with its collective bargaining agreement. And those pages do not acknowledge that the anthem protest started two years ago by Colin Kaepernick had nothing to do with respect for the flag. This argument could depend upon proof, though baseball arbitration involving John Rocker suggest that free speech is protected no matter how offensive.
