The minister said, "The documentary exposes the gross malfunctioning of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), characterized by widespread fraud, corruption and bribery".

President of the Sports Writers Association of Ghana Kwabena Yeboah has been appointed as acting Ghana Football Association President.

The ban means Nyantakyi can no longer perform his duties as GFA President, CAF vice president and a FIFA Executive Council member.

His decision to step down follows an investigation by journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas, who secretly filmed Mr. Nyankakyi discussing plans to set aside 25 per cent of a proposed sponsorship deal to a company he owns in a documentary called "When Greed and Corruption Become the Norm".
