Democratic lawmakers joined hundreds of protesters outside an immigration detention facility in New Jersey on Sunday for a Father's Day demonstration against the Trump administration's practice of separating children from their parents at the U.S. -Mexico border. Almost 2,000 children were removed from the care of their parents and taken into federal custody between April 19 and May 31, an immigration official said Friday. "It does not call for family separation".

Asked whether the first lady had lobbied the President or attorney general to end the administration's family separation policy, given their authority to do so, Grisham did not directly answer.

Some 1,500 boys are being held in a former Walmart supermarket in Texas, and the government is erecting tent structures near the border to house the increasing number of migrant children, including unaccompanied minors, in custody.

Egypt's Cuper may live to regret Salah omission
Afterward, even Uruguay coach Oscar Tabarez conceded that the result might have been different had Salah been on the field. Luis Suarez missed an opportunity to put Uruguay ahead against Egypt as he hit the side netting from close range.

Customs and Border Protection provided the document to CNN during a walk-through of a border processing center in McAllen, Texas, near the US-Mexico border. Department of Homeland Security officials said that at least 2,000 children have been separated from their parents since it began implementing the policy in late April. Civil liberties activists say the allegation is false and the Trump administration is using it as an excuse to enforce provisions that if done in any other country would have raised a stink about human rights abuses. Evangelist and staunch Trump supporter Franklin Graham has also called family separation "disgraceful".

Simon Sandoval-Moshenberg, legal director of the immigrant advocacy program at the Legal Aid Justice Centre in Virginia, said he's never worked with immigrants who said USA policies influenced their decision to move.

Since then, stories of weeping children torn from the arms of their frightened parents have flooded the media and the policy has been widely criticized by church groups, politicians and children's advocates who say it is inhumane.

Mr Trump has blamed a law "Democrats gave us" for the policy, but it is unclear what law he is referring to.

"As a mother, as a Catholic, as someone with a conscience..." We will ensure you will never escape them.

But while Trump has been calling for Democrats to come to the negotiating table, he has kept up his fiery rhetoric on MS-13 - the gang started by Central American immigrants in the 1980s and known for its particularly brutal crimes and motto: "Kill, rape, control". By registering outrage over what the department is doing to immigrant families, you will let the department know that these anti-family and anti-immigrant practices are not what the U.S.is about. Children under age 10 are of deep concern, she said.

President Donald Trump makes remarks at the Prison Reform Summit at The White House in Washington, D.C., May 18, 2018. Implementing the policy exclusively for deterrence purposes, however, has been ruled illegal by US judges. And we doubt Trump's base plans to do the low-wage, high-value jobs many immigrants take on.

Roy Garcia, 43, attended the protest with his wife, Linda, and their sons, 8-year-old Julian and 11-year-old Sebastian.
