The British government is going to the Russian request for the extradition of two Russians suspected of poisoning with the use of nerve agents "Beginner" in Salisbury, injuring the former GRU officer Sergey Skripal and his daughter Julia.

Government officials and prosecutors would not confirm details of the Guardian report when queried by dpa.

At the same time, the Guardian notes that Russian Federation "will undoubtedly deny" the United Kingdom extradition, and the request may cause a new diplomatic row between London and Moscow.

They target USA dollar financial transactions, Iran's automotive sector and the purchase of commercial planes and metals, including gold.

The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), which has been preparing papers, has completed the process and is ready to file, the Guardian reported on Monday. "It's nearly a rerun of the situation", The Guardian quoted a government source as saying.

They were found in a serious condition on a bench in The Maltings shopping centre, and the discovery of the substance sparked a city-wide investigation with police having to cordon off large areas, including where they had eaten dinner that evening.

While the request is nearly certain to be rejected out of hand by the Russian authorities, it will likely reignite the bitter diplomatic row which erupted following the poisoning of former Russian spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter, Yulia, in March.

Russian officials refused to hand over suspects who Britain claimed were responsible for the murder of Aleksandr Litvinenko with a rare radioactive isotope in 2006. One died days afterwards. Moscow has repeatedly denied any involvement and accused the British intelligence agencies of staging the attack to stoke anti-Russian hysteria.

Police think the novichok was sprayed or smeared on their front doorknob with a perfume bottle.

British police believe the Novichok nerve agent used on Yulia and her former double agent father in March was the same chemical used to kill 44-year-old Dawn Sturgess and her partner Charlie Rowley in late June, about eight miles away.
