Now those iconic slippers have found their way home after going missing 13 years ago, nearly to the day.

For years people have theorized over what might have happened to the pair of ruby shoes, with some saying that Shaw himself might have stolen the shoes in order to collect the insurance money (this theory was investigated and found to be untrue), or that they might be in a weighted plastic container at the bottom of the deep Tioga Mine Pit Lake.

The shoes were taken from the Judy Garland Museum in Grand Rapids, MN, in August of 2005.

The ruby slippers were swiped during a heist in which someone broke through a window and broke into the small display case.

Huesca drew closer just before the halftime whistle, with Alejandro Gallar Falguera scoring in the 42nd minute. The Argentine also hit the bar and added a second on the counter-attack, as well as assisting two goals.

Police say the slippers were on loan to the museum by a private collector, Michael Shaw, as part of a ten-week travelling tour.

FBI agent Christopher Dudley, who led the investigation, said in the release that "when it became apparent that those involved were in reality attempting to extort the owners of the slippers", Grand Rapids police requested FBI assistance. Investigators say the smash-and-grab took 45 seconds or less. After years of searching, the slippers have been recovered following a year-long investigation. Leonardo DiCaprio helped wrangle a third pair for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences museum.

Four pairs of ruby slippers worn by Garland in the movie are known to exist.

The Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of American History, which possesses one of the other pairs of slippers, assisted the Federal Bureau of Investigation in the case.

Ohio State Buckeyes coach Urban Meyer back in limited capacity
Meyer arrived at the Woody Hayes Athletic Center before sunrise, with a camera crew near the front entrance. Day smiled when asked about Meyer's critique of the Oregon State game.

"The slippers are a major attraction for our museum". The thief then smashed a Plexiglas case containing the slippers and took off with them.

"Our police department followed up on each and every lead that we received over the years", Johnson said, adding that it didn't help that countless replicas were in circulation.

The stolen ruby slippers were featured in July on the Discovery Channel show "Expedition Unknown", in which host Josh Gates visited the museum during the winter and conducted his own underwater search for the slippers with quips about northern Minnesota's weather. In 2015, 10 years after the theft, a movie fan offered a reward of $1 million for the return of the stolen slippers, but their whereabouts remained a mystery until Monday.

In the famous 1939 film, the sequinned red slippers feature heavily.
