  • Four people including suspect killed during shooting in downtown Cincinnati bank

The gunman was confronted by Cincinnati police officers inside of the building, officials said, and a shootout commenced.

Some of the victims were shot multiple times, Isaac said.

The shooter's identity or motive were not released.

Cincinnati Mayor John Cranley told reporters at the press conference that the suspect was "actively shooting innocent victims".

The shooter who killed three people in the lobby of a downtown Cincinnati office high-rise could have killed many more if his gun hadn't jammed during the four-minute rampage, city leaders said Friday.

"This is a horrific incident and we really are grateful to the quick and decisive actions of the officers and fire personnel who responded", said Isaac.

Isaac said during a September 7 press conference that he "couldn't be prouder" of the officers who responded to the shooting, according to the Enquirer. "I think there's something deeply sick at work here". For example, the newspaper reports that one victim was found in a local ice cream shop and another was discovered at 5th and Walnut.

Thousands protest in Syria's Idlib against possible Assad offensive
Mr Putin, Turkey's Tayyip Erdogan, and Iran's Hassan Rouhani all agreed there could be no military solution to the conflict. The Assad government was not directly represented at the summit, nor was the United States or other Western powers.

"Our physicians and staff are focused on caring for the patients and their families", the medical center said in a statement.

The chief said Santa Perez drove to the area in his own vehicle and entered several nearby businesses before entering the high-rise, CBS affiliate WKRC-TV reports. He said a woman also was walking into the bank at the same time, but she had headphones on and apparently couldn't hear their warnings.

Leonard Cain was going back inside the bank when someone alerted him to the shooting.

"There was definitely a lot of blood involved", he said.

"They were dropping to the ground to get away, trying to find a way to protect themselves", she told Local 12 News.

"I made it out to see my kids, to see another day", she said with relief.

Richardson said he also saw a cop dragging a bloodied woman out of the lobby.

The site of Thursday's shooting sits alongside Fountain Square, often a site of concerts, dancing, food trucks and other events around lunchtime or in the evenings.

Workers quickly fled the building and hid in bathrooms and closets when they heard a hail of gunfire and smelled gun power.

Perez's aunt said her nephew held various jobs and was now working, though his aunt and her family did not know where.

"She walked in the door and he shot her", Mr Cain added.

"No other industrialized country has this level of multiple active shootings on a regular basis, nearly on a daily basis", Cranley said.

"We prepare for situations like these and hope they never happen", said Amanda Nageleisen, UC Health spokeswoman.
