The National Hurricane Center forecasts Florence to intensify rapidly into a major hurricane by Monday.

At 11 a.m. EDT, the Miami-based hurricane center said Florence's maximum sustained winds were estimated to be 65 miles per hour.

AccuWeather Hurricane Expert Dan Kottlowski warned that Florence could even make landfall along the U.S. East Coast.

Florence started out as a tropical storm Sunday before strengthening into a Category 1 hurricane.

The storm's center was 750 miles (1,200 km) southeast of Bermuda at 11 a.m. EDT on Sunday.

"This storm is too powerful and its path is too uncertain to take any chances", said South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster on Saturday.

By Thursday, Florence could regain strength to a Category 3 or higher if it makes landfall along the East Coast.

Mr Putin, Turkey's Tayyip Erdogan, and Iran's Hassan Rouhani all agreed there could be no military solution to the conflict. The Assad government was not directly represented at the summit, nor was the United States or other Western powers.

"However, there is still very large uncertainty in model forecasts of Florence's track beyond day five, making it too soon to determine the exact location, magnitude, and timing of these impacts".

Tropical Depression #9 has developed into Tropical Storm Isaac.

"But anyone living on the East Coast should place close attention in the next few days to where this storm goes and what it does".

Another "life-threatening impact" from Florence could be freshwater flooding from prolonged heavy rainfall inland, the center said.

The National Hurricane Center said Saturday the storm was expected to become a "major hurricane" by Tuesday as it passes between Bermuda and the Bahamas on Tuesday and Wednesday.
